From paper to a secure, data-driven supply chain

Inland Terminals Group (ITG) is a leading provider of inland container logistics in the Netherlands and Belgium. The group was established in 2021 from the terminal activities of BCTN and today comprises BCTN, MCS and Combi Terminal Twente (CTT). Its network includes 17 inland terminals across the Netherlands and Belgium.

Each year, ITG handles the transport of more than 500,000 containers to and from the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. In addition to inland shipping, the group provides road transport, container storage, terminal services, warehousing and customs services. Its customers include major international shippers such as Heineken, FrieslandCampina, Action, Kraft Heinz and Nike, as well as regional companies.

ITG’s strategy has a strong focus on sustainability, digitalisation and efficiency throughout the logistics chain. Inland shipping plays an important role in reducing road mileage and CO₂ emissions. The organisation employs approximately 350 people and is headquartered in Nijmegen.

Reliable audit trail

Inland Terminals Group (ITG) handles hundreds of container movements every day. The traditional paper-based CMR process was becoming increasingly labour-intensive and difficult to scale. By adopting e-CMR, ITG is not only reducing its reliance on paper, but—more importantly—improving data quality, enabling real-time information and creating a reliable digital audit trail.

Collect + Go’s solution is integrated with Modality’s TMS and FleetGo’s in-vehicle computer workflow. Secure Logistics acts as the gatekeeper, granting drivers access to the terminals. This ensures that important data, such as weights, seals and delivery information, is recorded directly in the correct container file.

The result: less manual processing, fewer errors, faster processes and improved traceability.
