Customer case Plus
The e-CMR solution from Collect + Go makes deliveries in the PLUS chain more transparent and reliable.
PLUS, one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands, has successfully implemented the digital consignment note (eCMR) in its distribution chain. The digitalization drive was part of the commissioning of the new high-tech distribution center (DC) in Oss. From here, a large part of the stores are supplied by transporters such as Simon Loos and Van Straalen de Vries. In an environment with far-reaching mechanization, working with paper packing slips and consignment notes is simply no longer desirable.
Digitalization of loading and unloading processes
The choice for the e-CMR solution from Collect + Go is part of a broader ambition to make processes more efficient, reliable and sustainable. The digital consignment note integrates seamlessly with the loading and unloading processes at the DC, the carriers and the stores. This saves time when loading, unloading, archiving and retrieving deliveries — with a sound legal process as a basis. Peter Appels, project manager at PLUS: “The main reason for the switch is that the administration must be simple and reliable during both loading and unloading. Drivers must be able to get back on the road quickly and stores must be able to rely on a correct delivery.”
Chain-wide implementation and collaboration
The choice for Collect + Go was the result of a careful comparison of multiple providers. The click was immediate. Despite the fact that the implementation coincided with an internal restructuring of four DCs into one and a merger process, the project was rolled out successfully. The e-CMR replaces stacks of paper consignment notes and offers clear advantages for all parties involved: drivers, store employees, transport planners and the administration. The collaboration with Collect + Go played a key role in this. The PLUS project team was technically supported and guided from the start. Thanks to the available integrations, the e-CMR solution could be quickly linked to the existing PLUS systems. The choice for the user-friendly Collect + Go app ensured smooth adoption by drivers and stores.
Get on the road faster, ready for the future
The e-CMR offers direct benefits: less paper consumption, faster loading and unloading, easy archiving and direct availability of delivery notes. This digitalisation contributes to a more reliable chain and a more pleasant work process for all parties involved.
