Customer case AGC Glass

The journey to a paperless process with Collect + Go

About AGC Glass

AGC Glass, a prominent player in the glass industry, is part of the AGC Group and offers innovative glass solutions for the construction sector. Their products find customers worldwide. In order to transform their European logistics operations, AGC has made the switch to a digital system: the e-CMR solution from Collect + Go. Together with De Block, a container carrier from Evergem, they have taken an important step towards a paperless future.

The challenge: Digitalization as a necessary evolution

AGC’s desire was clear: to move away from outdated paper processes and switch to a more efficient digital system that meets the needs of all parties involved. During the Covid pandemic, the importance of a modern approach became clearer than ever. AGC set up a QR code procedure as a basis, enabling social distancing and laying a foundation for their further digitalization.

Innovation and real-time insight

The choice for Collect + Go was driven by their flexibility and ability to digitize complex logistics scenarios. AGC started with a system that did not come from their SAP system, but from their carrier. Collect + Go provided a solution by merging two paper CMRs into one efficient digital flow. This brought a whole new dimension of real-time insight into the logistics process.

Gauthier Bouchez, Project Manager at AGC Glas, emphasized: “The new system gives us a complete overview of our shipments and allows us to react quickly to problems or changes.”

Implementation: A fast and efficient transition

Within three months, AGC successfully completed the project. After a careful selection process, the company chose Collect + Go for their reliability and certifications. The integration of systems via API connections started in the summer. The go-live took place in September and went smoothly, with a fully operational process for container transport from day one.

Bouchez spoke enthusiastically about the smooth implementation: “Thanks to thorough preparation, we were able to switch to the new system quickly and efficiently.”

Safety and Compliance: A Priority

In addition to efficiency, safety was high on AGC’s agenda. With their Benelux government accreditation and ISO27001 certification, Collect + Go proved to be an ideal partner. Their focus on security and compliance with strict regulations, such as those in the Port of Antwerp, reassured AGC. Bouchez noted: “The level of security is unmatched, which is a huge advantage, especially in critical areas such as ports.”

A look into the future

AGC Glas has ambitious plans to expand the e-CMR solution to other carriers and logistics flows. The system minimizes administrative burdens and provides both AGC and their partners with a clear overview of processes. AGC aims to optimize their entire supply chain with this digital approach.

The implementation of Collect + Go’s solution marks a significant moment in AGC Glas’ digital transformation. By bringing together flexibility, speed and regulatory compliance, AGC has paved the way for an innovative future. Their focus on constant improvement and expansion shows that they are ready to set a new standard in logistics.
