Tipping point: more than 50% of European cross-border road transport is digital now

Poland ratified the e-CMR protocol on 13 June. This is a tipping point in the EU market. From now on, based on GDP more than 50% of European cross-border road transport can be handled digitally.

The European market for e-CMR is digitising at a rapid pace. With pilots in Germany and the UK, the time is here for shippers and carriers to digitise all paperwork.

Benefits include:

  • time savings for truck drivers and warehouse employees
  • sharing of status messages when cargo is transferred and delivered
  • invoicing of orders on signoff for receipt
  • inspections on the fly
  • no back office handling for LSP’s  in the happy flow

Logistics service providers GVT, Essers and adhesives producer Bostik are the first to use this new digital option on the Tilburg-Rzepin e-Joint Corrridor.
