Whitepaper e-CMR in retail distribution

GS1, Colruyt, Procter & Gamble, and e-CMR provider Collect + Go are collaborating on the standardization of e-CMR integrations within retail supply chains.

For some time, we have been working on a standardized method for deliveries to retailers’ distribution centers (DCs). By making clever use of the DESADV and RECADV standards, it is possible to digitize transport documentation. We have produced a white paper on this subject.

This document shares the experiences of various market participants to help drive the further adoption of e-CMR. It includes concrete recommendations on how supply chain partners can implement e-CMR, as well as the specific activities and process choices involved. The white paper covers the following areas:

  • Introduction and problem definition
  • Description of the current process
  • Architectural design for a generic e-CMR issuance and handling process
  • Recommendations and next steps

Customer Case Plus

The e-CMR solution from Collect + Go makes deliveries within the PLUS chain more transparent and reliable.

PLUS, one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands, has successfully implemented the electronic consignment note (e-CMR) within its distribution chain. This shift toward digitalization was part of the launch of its new, high-tech distribution center (DC) in Oss. From this facility, a large number of stores are supplied by transport companies such as Simon Loos and Van Straalen de Vries. In an environment characterized by extensive mechanization, relying on paper-based delivery notes and consignment notes is simply no longer practical.

The safaris were a great success, drawing many enthusiastic visitors. We engaged with inspiring organizations, shared knowledge, and demonstrated how Collect + Go contributes to the future of digital logistics.

Couldn’t make it, or did you miss the Safari? Let us know—we’d be happy to tell you more.
